Now its all gonna have to be brought up to code. When the buildings are torn to the studs what else is gonna be found. Some of these buildings are old and lets be honest there was a lot of unpermitted work being done on this island back in the day. Think about the amount of permits that have to be pulled for all these repairs. All the equipment in the kitchens it all has to go. Drywall absorbs moisture like a sponge it's all gonna have to come out, then you will have to have the electrical inspected, old electrical wires with probably cracked/dried out insulation submerged in salt water thats gonna have to be replaced, HVAC blowers submerged, there's probably several thousand of them, wiring, capacitors, duct work thats now all mold infested, flooring, tables, chairs. Starts in 24 hrs, its why when you have a water intrusion your insurance company will want serve-pro/servicemaster in there ASAP with fans and dehumidifiers. This restaurant really needs to fumigate under the deck and around back where the dumpsters are.Mold has already been spreading. It's a shame that happened, I really did enjoy the food. Thank God for that! After I saw the roach party, I asked the waitress to bring us the check and we got out of there fairly quick. I guess the smell of the food was driving them crazy, but having so many people on the deck, they were too scared to stay above the deck for more than a second at a time. I saw about three of them running in and out. They were coming from the bottom of the deck, sneaking in through the separation of the wood. A few short seconds later I noticed LIVE Palmetto Bugs were running around the deck. I told the waitress and she picked it up with a napkin and thanked me for telling her. Later we realized that was a mistake! A few minutes after eating my meal I noticed a deal Palmetto Bug (which is a large sized roach) on the patio deck. Since it was late, we wanted to sit at the first available table. Our waitress was very friendly and we got the meals pretty quick, so I have no complaints about that. The grouper was very fresh and I appreciate that. I ordered the Grouper basket and my husband ordered a burger. My husband and I and our two boys showed up at Lazy Flamingo's between 9:30 & 10:00pm.

The place was full as of 6:30pm on a Sunday, seemed to be locals. I know there is another Lazy Flamingo in Sanibel and it is bigger. so if you sit by a window, you could sort of see the sunset. Good location, sort of kiddy corner, across the road from the beach/bridge at Blind Pass. There were 4 tvs, but they were small so it was hard to watch the football games. With wings and fries they came in baskets and there were no plates or cutlery. You place your order at the bar, only one guy on, then they shout out your name when your order is ready and you have to go up and pick it up and bring it to your table, then bring your dirty dishes back to the bar and settle your bill at that time. Totally odd set up, never experienced it before. a nautical decor, pretty sure I didn't see one flamingo. The place is small, only 7 tables and maybe 14 seats around the bar. I saw the bowl of conch chowder go by for$4.99 and it was a good serving size but don't know what it tasted like. A glass of wine at $6.95 was not worth it. The import pitcher of Shock Top was $11 or $2.75 on draft which is good on this island. We also had the spicy fries for $3.99 and they were good and crispy and hot out of the grease, a big basket, but not spicy which was fine for $3.95. We had heard about the "dead parrot: wings were supposed to be wicked hot, so I asked for the sauce on the side and it was hot, but the mean kind of hot, burn our lips. Since we were there and we were hungry, we ordered the teri-wings and hot-teri wings (not at all hot), both were $8.99 and they were very good and a good size and came with celery sticks with blue cheese, not much blue cheese but it was more mayonaisse. I was given a menu of specials, but they weren't any better than anywhere else. I mentioned the ad that was only 2 days old, but he just shook his head. 50 cent wings but again I was told they were not doing those specials either. The ad also said that during NFL games they have beer and wine specials and.
We were looking forward to the $1.50 domestic drafts, domestic pitchers for $6 and the $5 appetizer specials but I was told they do not have happy hour anymore. 21 and it advertised Hapy Hour from 3-6pm every day. 23/11 at 5:45pm and there was no happy hour, yet we had a local newspapter dated Oct.
